We have embarked on a fundraising project to renovate and renew our beloved centre which includes hosting various activities to raise funds and one of these is an Auction of Delights!
This will be an in-person auction of beautiful objects, experiences, expertise, skills and donations of time on Sunday 6 April (Triratna Day) at the Birmingham Buddhist Centre. You don’t have to be at the centre on the day to bid on a lot that takes your fancy.
COULD YOU CONTRIBUTE TO OUR AUCTION OF DELIGHTS?
We’re looking for donations to include:
Experiences: Donating your time or an asset you have: e.g providing a delicious vegetarian or vegan lunch/dinner/breakfast or offering a walk somewhere beautiful with cinnamon buns and hot chocolate, or maybe a 1 to 1 dharma session with refreshments, offering your time to clean, garden or just to hang out – all unique donations gratefully received.
Do you own a holiday let, boat, caravan or similar you would be willing to donate for a weekend or longer? (by offering opportunities to connect there will be a twin aspect of benefits – the potential to make and deepen friendships as well as the financial benefit to our renovation project)
Skills and Expertise: What can you offer? Do you have professional expertise in coaching, Focussing, Yoga, Reiki or other therapies that could lend themselves to one off sessions? An arts related activity: art lesson/activity, poetry mentoring session, musical instrument tuition, crochet, knitting, needlework lesson etc.
Art works: inc paintings, sketches, needle craft, crochet, woodwork, all manner of knitted wearables: meditation socks, scarves, hats etc.
We’d be delighted to receive your unique and imaginative lots for our Auction of Delights… Think outside the box, something that you really enjoy or want to spend some time doing with someone, and something that might create some interest for a bidding war!
