Dharma Night: The Buddha’s teachings for everyone
Liberating Gems from the Pali Canon
with Balajit and friends
The Pali Canon is a tried and tested treasure chest of teachings to purify our hearts and transform human suffering into inconceivable freedom. In this series, we will pick some of the brightest gems from this vast collection of over 2000 individual teachings. Each night, through a range of speakers, we will explore a different text, in a practical and pragmatic way, to see how it can bring a liberating light into our lives today, 2000 years after they were first written down.
24 April: Seeing Things As They Really Are – Awakening into Abundance
With Balajit
On this opening night of the series, we will be drawing from the very first teaching the buddha gave – the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta: Setting the Wheel of Dhamma in Motion. Here the buddha proclaims the essentials of what it is we need to move away from, and what we need to move towards, to liberate ourselves from mental and emotional anguish and discover the limitless, boundless qualities of the awakening heart. This text really gets to the heart of the buddhist path. On the night we will be hearing from the sutta, and exploring how we can respond to its teachings in our meditation and everyday lives.

Every 7 weeks there will be a new theme, along with pujas and guest speakers. Each session is stand alone, so you don’t have to come to every one in the series.
