This drop in class will explore Meditation within a Buddhist context.

Each session will be stand alone, so you can dip in and out as you schedule allows.

What will we cover?

During each evening we will spend some time learning a meditation practice, looking at things like techniques, posture, motivation, what helps sustain a practice and what can get in the way. Each week there will be time to sit together, and space to ask any questions that arise for you.

The practice’s we will look at throughout the drop in classes will be body scan meditation, mindfulness of breathing practice, or a meditation called the Metta Bhavana, that can help us develop openness and a positive attitude towards ourselves and other people in our life.

Over the weeks we will also be bringing alive the potential of freedom and inspiration that the Buddha can offer us, a path towards getting there, and the benefit of doing that with others. This is also known as the three jewels: the Buddha, the Dharma and the Sangha, which are central themes to this tradition of Buddhism.

All equipment is provided – chairs, cushions, mats, and blankets. Please just wear comfortable clothing and turn your phone on silent.
