A friendly, engaging, and informal get-together, creating a welcoming space for people of colour to learn, connect and practice alongside each other.
December session:
Our last session of the year will combine Dharma talk and mindfulness practice.
In the first half, Jayabodhi will discuss doubt in his casual yet acute style. Sometimes we feel strongly committed to meditating every day but simply can’t keep up with that promise. Such incongruence often happens because there are still parts of ourselves that doubt that meditation will actually make a difference. Join us in looking at the different types of doubt and how to work with them.
The second half will be led by the experienced yoga and mindfulness teacher (and loved POC sangha member) Rose. She will lead us on a mindfulness practice with a particular emphasis on movement. Time allowing, this should be followed by a luscious body scan!
Our People of Colour events are gatherings for people who come from the richly diverse lived experiences of these intentionally welcomed identities: Black, and people of colour inclusive of Asian, South East Asian, Latinx, Arab/Middle Eastern, biracial, mixed heritage, and multiracial.
