Finding Freedom: Self-development, Self-surrender, Self-discovery
Led by Maitrisiddhi, from Taraloka
Saturday 26 April
10:30am – 4pm (with the option to come just for the morning until lunch)
There will be jacket potatoes for lunch – please bring toppings to share.
The Three Myths of the Spiritual Life are three views or contrasting ways of seeing the spiritual life. How do we imagine what we are doing in the Dharma life? Are we cultivating qualities like awareness and metta by making creative choices? Or are we opening up to Enlightened qualities as ever-present in the universe, embodied in mythic Buddhas and bodhisattvas? Or are we simply uncovering our essential blue sky buddha-nature that has been hidden under clouds?
Each myth has the potential to open us into radical freedom. And each has its shadow side, dead ends where we can get ourselves stuck. Let’s explore what we respond to, and where we get stuck – and work out when to call on which myth. It’s the art of cutting ourselves free!
With presentations, interactive explorations, meditation and ritual.
Please email singhamati@gmail.com to let her know if you are attending so that we know how many Jacket Potatoes to buy!
