Public classes are taking a short break for the end of December but we will be hosting 4 special winter events. All are open to anyone who is familiar with the mindfulness of breathing and the metta bhavana meditations. No booking required, just come along.
And if you can’t come to any, then we look forward to seeing you in 2025.
Buddhism is often associated with a peaceful and calm mind. And that’s true but what about joy? Join us for this day retreat to explore the Buddhist teachings on joy particularly drawing on the life of 11th century Tibetan yogi, Milarepa – who often taught the Dharma through songs.
During these two mornings we will be exploring mindfulness as the ‘direct path’ path to liberation taught by the Buddha in the ‘Satipatthana Sutta.’ Through a combination of meditation, talks and and discussion, we will be learning how to bring greater awareness to our bodies and minds, and how to view our experience from the perspective of ‘Right View.’
An evening of meditation, communication and ritual, culminating with the Midnight star puja evoking the qualities of fearlessness and compassion as we move into 2025.
A day retreat exploring how could we be more radical, far reaching and thorough in our metta practice. How can we gain fresh perspectives and fresh ways in. How can our hearts become more at home and more rooted, in these difficult times and in our difficult human lives.
