Day retreat: Equanimity, Restlessness and Distraction
Led by Saddhanandi, from Adhisthana
Sunday 18 October 10am-4pm
For all women including non-binary or those who identify as female
Equanimity is not some passive uninterested state of mind but one of energy, combined with contentment, metta and clarity. We’ll use this day to explore this mental event through meditation and discussion.
Unfortunately, our ability to achieve the calm, insightful balance of equanimity is habitually hindered by our preference towards restlessness and distraction. A preference we tend to believe is passively happening to us rather than being driven by us. So we’ll use discussion and reflection to explore and understand the nature of these two very familiar mental events that have their own particular character and make such an impact on our lives.
Lunch will be jacket potatoes – please bring veggie fillings and snacks to share. Please email singhamati@gmail.com to let us know you are coming and book your potato!
